Project Manager

TalEx is partnering with an IT Consulting company to identify a Senior Project Manager for a contract role in Reston, VA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Keeps client experience in the forefront of all efforts. Work with internal and external technical and business teams when creating solutions and communications plans to deliver desired outcomes.

Provide leadership for project teams internally and through datacenter vendors.
Prioritize and drive projects to conclusion based upon business priorities.
Facilitate the definition and declaration of project scope, milestones, tasks, deliverables and

resource requirements.
Responsible for delivery of high quality project plans, risk analysis and assessments, contingency

planning for all projects whether internal projects or vendor managed projects.
Consult and drive governance related to external vendor management.
Work with technical teams and business teams when creating technologies and communications

plans to provide ideal client experience.
Develop strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.
Ensure assigned projects are conducted in compliance with organizational standards, policies

and guidelines.
Manage vendor relationships and drive deliverables to meet target deadlines.
Maintain sponsor and business inclusion throughout the management of the project schedule,

decision making, training, etc.
Display attention to detail in executing and reviewing work products to ensure the highest

quality deliverables in the allotted timeframe.
Work closely with the external vendors PMO leads to ensure consistency of information

throughout the PMO.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand and enumerate expectations for

the enablement of project success
Create and deliver all necessary project artifacts.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline or ten (10) years or more of related experience and technical certifications. Understanding and adherence to PMI-s or similar Project and portfolio methodologies - PMP certification required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

10-15 years of experience in a large organization working in a program/project management role managing multiple large scale high priority projects
Proven track record of leading broad, complex and/or strategic projects on a global scale.
Experience managing outsourced and internally managed datacenters.
Ability to execute tactical project level activities and tasks
In-depth knowledge and experience defining project scope, team building, business

requirements and understand functional/technical specifications
Proven experience working with matrixed, geographically dispersed teams
Comprehensive business acumen and understanding of integration process
Must be well organized and possess managerial experience
Working knowledge of project lifecycles and project lifecycle methodologies
Working knowledge of ITIL and Service Management processes
Working knowledge of Risk Management processes
Self-starter who can identify and solve problems with minimal guidance and limited resources -

Capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to establish and secure a

reliable and productive working relationship
Ability to work in a matrixed organizational structure
Ability to effectively communicate with peers written and verbal.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills with the ability to lead with influence across

disparate swim lanes - Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills
Proven track record presenting to Executives - Solid computer skills with recent Microsoft

applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project)

DESIRED SKILLS:

Experience in transition of datacenter services between vendors.
Business process re- engineering experience.
Data Center/Facilities relocation planning and logistics a plus.
CSM certification a plus.
