A/V Technician

TalEx is partnering with a large non-profit to identify an A/V Technician for a long term contract role in Washington, DC.

Position Summary
The AV Systems engineer will be responsible for the seamless delivery of Audio Visual and Video conferencing services throughout the non-profit and remote meetings as necessary. The AV Systems engineer will be responsible for delivering top notch customer service, interfacing with Washington IT and other business units. The engineer will also be responsible for working with vendors and IT resources in the maintenance and troubleshooting of AV and video conferencing systems. The incumbent reports to the Manager of Networking.

Work Design: Demonstrates solid knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures in the primary specialized area. Works under managerial direction. Works with established practices of the organization and the professional discipline and experience to guide actions. Performs analyses and interpretation of problems.
 
Position Accountabilities
•             Responsible for supporting audio and visual equipment and operational support for all videoconferencing suites. Ensures that daily AV set-ups and video conferencing is operating in an appropriate manner.
•             Works closely with the conference services department to ensure user experiences are of high quality.
•             Manages AV and video conferencing technical issues through resolution, and where necessary coordinate advanced troubleshooting efforts with senior engineers and vendor resources.
•             Ensures video conferencing room systems are maintained and kept up to date.
•             Ensures AV equipment inventory is sufficient and maintained properly.
•             Participates in planning for new AV and video conferencing room build-outs and room upgrades.
•             Identifies and recommends new AV and video conferencing technologies and services.
•             Train staff on the use of video conferencing.
•             Maintains detailed inventories and system documentation.
•             Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience/Technological Knowledge
 
College Degree or equivalent experience; 3+ years of experience. Experience providing AV and video conferencing support to small and medium sized organizations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Familiarity with Windows 7, Office 2010. Experience with Cisco/Tandberg, Crestron and AMX. Experience with web conferencing and collaboration platforms. Certifications desirable
