The Job
We are looking for a hungry person ready to take their product development career to the next level. We have put together a team of leading industry experts and stellar software developers who are working to build proprietary technology that enables financial advisors to deliver high quality, low cost advice to the mass affluent. Facet’s Product team sits at the unique intersection of Facet’s tech-enabled service offering: strategic planning and tactical execution. You will work directly with stakeholders from across the organization to define business priorities, process and product improvements to deliver on those priorities, and transition to work with our Engineering team to ensure the products we release to our platform are high-quality and intuitive.
Given the nascency of the Product team, we are looking for someone to help mature our Agile processes, all while continuing to execute as an owner of one of the pillars of our platform.
Your responsibilities
- You get in the weeds of product development: you're not afraid of owning problems, identifying process and technology improvements, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of solutions.
- Own and manage the product roadmap for one pillar of the Facet product - which pillar? We can decide on that together.
- Always have an eye out for process optimization - bring your awesome ideas to the table.
- Look out for market trends and get feedback from critical stakeholders and customers.
- Help navigate the organization through the Scrum development process: story creation, acceptance criteria definition, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospective meetings – essentially the Scrum cookbook.
- Report on status of tasks, backlog tracking, burndown metrics, engineering velocity, user stories.
- Ensure timely and high-quality delivery of new features from the engineering team, including ensuring acceptance criteria is met via QA testing.
- Work closely with the Head of Product and the engineering team to refine Facet's Scrum and Agile processes.
About You

- Has a tool kit of prototyping techniques, industry know-how
- You have a proven record of translating business requirements to technical requirements and vice versa. You can speak the business and technical languages effectively
- Experience running Scrum/Agile projects; preference for Certified ScrumMaster® or Product Owner®
- Knowledge of Agile techniques: User Stories, Acceptance Criteria, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Automated Testing
- Familiarity with traditional project management techniques, including Product Roadmap definition, Waterfall (not that we use such horrible techniques), etc.
- Must be able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Self-motivated w/ excellent communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, good interpersonal skills, and an orientation towards the achievement of team goals
- Outstanding skills in organization, time management, multi-tasking, prioritization, problem solving, and self-motivation
- Essentially – you are a Process & Product Ninja
