Audio Visual & Conferencing Systems Engineer Job Description
SUMMARY of Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual must share in the corporate goals and represent our team to our customers, Vendors, co-workers
and the public in a courteous and professional manner. The A/V and Conferencing Systems Engineer will provide
comprehensive engineering support for global enterprise needs. This includes conducting site surveys to
determine needs, design of AV and VTC solutions, planning and management of global installation efforts and
the ability to quickly and effectively diagnose and correct medium to complex issues relation to AV, VTC and IT
systems. Manage global installations with little or no supervision, including customer interface, Vendor
management, personnel management and implementation of audio/video systems. Instruct and assist vendor
technicians to insure the assignment is completed in accordance with standards. Complete elevations and
design drawings as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design a wide variety of Audio Visual and VTC solutions including enterprise level VTC and collaboration
systems, conference rooms, classrooms, command centers, auditoriums, digital signage and streaming
video systems.
Provide comprehensive procurement support including developing and writing Statements of Work and
comprehensive bid-package and procurement documentation in support AV & Conferencing efforts;
including bills of materials, scopes, technical responses and drawings.
Create drawings and design documentation as needed, including system design drawings, rack
fabrication drawings and facilities drawings (Elevation, RFP, RCP, Cable Pathways, etc…)
Perform site-surveys, determine business unit/customer requirements, and conduct needs-analysis
meeting with customers.
Provide critical review of vendor proposals and comprehensive oversight of vendor efforts during
projects
Supervise and manage tasks and personnel to meet project objectives
Effective time management and attention to detail
Assist with the implementation of AV solutions as needed.
Configure equipment, set up audio DSP’s, load code, debug, troubleshoot, perform quality control &
remediation, closeout and commission systems on-site as needed.
Proven ability to engineer quick turn AV solutions and work within compressed deadlines, as needed
Understand and apply industry standards and best practices
Provide Technical walkthroughs and training customers
Provide technical support to AOL staff to analyze and rectify technical faults on site and remote
Knowledge of configuring, testing operating, and maintaining video components including: MCU’s,
Codec, Gatekeepers, Gateways, Border Controllers, TMS, VCS and recorders
Understanding convergence of IT, AV & UC technologies
Job Requirements
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Required:
• BS/BA or equivalent education & experience
• Min. three (3) years’ experience in AV/VTC design engineering
• Infocomm CTS-D Certification
• Minimum 5-7 years AV industry experience
• Must be an analytical and strategic thinker
• Must possess a strong ability to multi-task
• Environment demands a detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated individual
• Mastery of MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio)
• CAD proficiency
• Set an exemplary example though work ethic, attendance, responsibility, quality, attitude, initiative

complex implementations

• Understanding convergence of IT and AV technology and UC as a Service
• Experience in design of comprehensive AV and VTC solutions
• Working knowledge of IT and network engineering practices as it applies to AV solutions
• Working knowledge of AV system security measures as they apply to AV & VTC solutions in Secret
and Top Secret Enclaves
• Knowledge of basic project management best practices
• Understanding of the construction and electrical contracting industries and how GC’s operate and
execute projects.
PREFERRED:
• Crestron and/or AMX certifications
• Biamp, Clear-One, QSC or BSS certifications and training
• Field engineering or lead installation experience strongly preferred
• Polycom, Cisco and Vidyo certifications and engineering experience
CERTIFICATION:
CTS-D Required
